What Comes In… Goes Back Out: Part 1 | Troubled Teen Search

Troubled Teen Search is a powerful alternative boarding school for troubled teens .  At ZES Jesus is the only answer.  Parents of struggling teens are desperate for answers, and they can only be found by seeking God’s perfect will.  Our coaching is to seek God with all of your heart, as He will lead you, provide peace, wisdom, and grace in your time of need.  Jesus is the only answer for troubled teens.  Please enjoy the following words of encouragement by Sandy Brunson, ZES’s Director of Ministry. What Comes in… Goes Back Out:  Part 1, by Sandy Brunson.  When Jesus said, “Follow me”, He meant more than, “memorize these doctrines I teach.'” He meant, “Watch me. This is how I do these things, how I live them out in my life.” Through looking at Him and following His practical example, we learn truth and how to apply it to our day to day lives.  Life is not all caught up in one, or even several events…life is a process. As we go….line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little, there a little, we learn to apply the truth of God to our lives in the daily processes of life. What we apply to our lives is what will be evident to those about us who watch us in life. What comes in….goes back out as a reflection of what we “look at”, believe, and follow.  Pastor Daniel Brown from California writes: “It takes TIME, repetition, different presentations through different personalities for development to take place in relationships….in friendships. One little thing here…one little thing there, hundreds of touches, and times of talking, sharing, ….in process, bringing healing and new knowledge. These bring a willingness in the one reached to….to open up and trust, to really listen and ‘hear’ what the Spirit is saying through the other….and hopefully, they will follow.”  “Most people will not remember what you say and many will not remember what you do….but most remember how you made them feel. Somehow it will have a kind of effect in their “process”…over time, and will do them good. They will remember HOW I presented the truth…whether or not it was presented in love? Do I have a willingness to risk my time, energy, and resources in another’s life….even if I get no credit…even if I see no immediate results?”  We are to love people out of faith and purity of heart and be sure to show ourself as one who truly follows Jesus. It is each of our personal responsibility to make sure our progress in the things of God is evident to all…in our personal world. As each of us can do that, we become an example of one who has progressed to the point that people can say as Paul, “Follow me as I follow Jesus.”(1 Cor. 11:1)  People will “follow Him”…if they see us genuinely DOING it…in spirit and in truth!
